A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your event date. The deposit amount will be outlined in your proposal and is due upon signing your agreement. Final payment is due 14 days prior to your event unless otherwise agreed in writing.
All services, inclusions, and deliverables will be outlined in your personalised proposal. Any changes or additions to the agreed scope may incur additional costs, which will be communicated and approved by you before proceeding.
We understand plans can change. If you need to postpone your event, we will do our best to accommodate a new date, subject to availability. Cancellations must be made in writing.
It is at the stylist's discretion to make adjustments on the day if weather conditions, venue restrictions, or unforeseen circumstances require a change to the set styling design. We will always endeavour to maintain the integrity and intention of the original concept.
Final design decisions on the day, including substitution of elements if deemed necessary, rest with The Event Edit to ensure the best possible outcome for your event.
Flower substitution may be necessary if specific blooms or colours originally planned become unavailable or arrive in a condition not suitable for use. In these circumstances, flowers of equal value and similar aesthetic will be used, keeping as close to the agreed colour scheme and style as possible.
Any hire items provided by The Event Edit remain our property. Items must be returned in the same condition they were delivered. The client is responsible for any damage, loss, or breakage of hire items during the event. Replacement costs will be charged accordingly.
The Event Edit requires adequate access to the venue for setup and pack-down as agreed in the event timeline. Any delays caused by venue access or third-party vendors that impact our setup time are not the responsibility of The Event Edit.
Once installed and until dismantled, any loss or damage to equipment, installations, or styling elements remains with the client and venue.
Where we recommend or coordinate third-party vendors on your behalf, those vendors are responsible for their own services, contracts, and deliverables. The Event Edit does not assume responsibility for the performance or conduct of other professionals.
Additional vendor invoicing is billed directly to the client.
All designs, concepts, mood boards, floor plans, and creative work produced by The Event Edit are protected by copyright and remain our intellectual property. These may not be reproduced, replicated, or distributed without our written consent.
We reserve the right to photograph our work at events and to use images from the event photographer for our website, social media, and marketing purposes. If there are any images you would prefer not be shared, please let us know in writing prior to your event.
All creative work by The Event Edit must be credited accordingly in any publications, social media posts, or other content.
The Event Edit takes every care in the planning and execution of your event. However, we do not accept liability for circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, power outages, venue issues, or the actions of third-party vendors.
The client agrees to hold The Event Edit harmless for any error, non-performance, or change made by any vendor.
For events outside the Christchurch and Canterbury region, travel costs including mileage, accommodation, and meals will be quoted separately and added to your proposal. These costs will be confirmed prior to booking.
By booking with The Event Edit, you agree to these terms and conditions. A signed agreement and deposit payment confirms acceptance of these terms.
